NHL Hockey Exhibition in Everett

Question by : How do I tell if an NHL jersey is real or a scam?
I’m looking to buy a pittsburgh penguins NHL jersey through craigslist or ebay. Is there anything I can look at on the jersey to know if I’m getting a reebok jersey or a ripoff? Thanks for the help!

Reebok’s should have the silver patch on the bottom left of the jersey. Aside from that, i really can’t think of any other ways to tell if it’s a counterfeit.

The “Lau” actually answers a question normally? Slow day policing the internet for redundant questions?

An authentic jersey will have fight straps……..if you are looking for an authentic……..if not then one that just has the logo……you can dispute the charge if it is a phoney….you can E-Mail the seller first too just to confirm. You should be fine on E-Bay…not sure about Craig’s List but I can’t imagine that there are a whole lot of counterfeit Pens jerseys on Craig’s List

It’s actually pretty hard to tell. These days fakes are becoming better and better. They can even create the exact same tags, etc. Basically the only way to know is the price. If they are trying to sell you a brand new Crosby jersey for $50, then it is probably fake. For an authentic jersey, it shouldn’t be any less than $100? If you really want to be 100% sure, then you could buy one from the NHL website.

i order jerseys from china, from dhgate.com. these jerseys are fake they have the tie-down and they have a made in canada tag, and i tell everyone that buys one where they are from. i took a jersey into a local sport store and the reebok rep was there. i asked him if the jersey i had was real or fake. he looked at it for about 45 seconds and told me it was one of his. he said it was worth $375, and i paid $35 for it with shipping included. it may be wrong but i refuse to pay 375 for a jersey that can be produced for $15. does reebok really need to make $300 profit on one jersey.

    the conclusion, you can’t tell

you cant. the only way is to have it in your hands. i purchased gift from sports-discount on e bay. did get real jersey. the cost was 8.00 united states. plus 4 dollars shipping. you can feel the difference. if you can scrunch jersey up with one hand fake. the counterfeits are very good not all but many. it just depends on use. for wear to game casual wear go cheap. bought daughter 3 knock off nike t shirts when they were the rage early nineties. 3 for ten bucks. real one for 17. there are two knockoffs that outlasted the real one. why i do not know.
